yes it's finally finished...it feels soooo good...Isobel is happy.  I told her we can over look it was for Harry Potter number 6 and she has it waaay in time for HP number 7 part 1 in November.
I am looking forward to starting something new without worrying about finishing The Scarf....
ps forgot to say the finished scarf measures 3 metres!!! phew

The only bit of creating going on over the weekend has been the baking kind.   I have been really struggling over the last week or more, all Lupus related.  I haven't wanted to complain about it, but it's the reason why I haven't been creating much.

It felt really good to finish the pincushion, so now I MUST get on with the tassels for Bel's scarf.  I am kind of dreading it, but I don't want to start anything else until it is finished, so I must push on with tassel tedium.

When it comes to macro shots of sweet goodies especially cupcakes I just can't help myself....
ps tonight on ABC1 apart from Doctor Who of course is a movie with Rupert Penry-Jones in it....what more could a girl ask for to watch while making tassels......

pincushion arrival

The pincushion I made for the swap has arrived safe and sound at it's new home so I can share it with you now.  My partner was Kim from Thaw Magazine.  A fabulous little indie magazine and so I wanted the pincushion to represent an issue (loosely of course as you see).   Kim seems to like it and I had a lot of fun making it.

Here is the latest issue of Thaw.  I subscribe to this little mag and it comes straight out of Ballarat.  If you don't know it already you really should check it out....

I received my pincushion in the mail on Friday and how pretty it is.   My secret partner was Jan from Running Thread and she has made the prettiest pincushion for me, and it's PINK so it has to be gorgeous.   It looks like it has sprinkles all over it.  Some gorgeous pearly pins as well, thank you Jan so much!!  and thank you to Kate for all the organisation that went into this fun swap...I won't show you yet the pincushion I made until my partner receives it.  Hopefully that will be tomorrow, as it sort of has her name on it so I don't want to give anything away...

I am off now for the much awaited Doctor Who and then Tess.......

I was so lucky to win another giveaway recently.  A very cute one indeed from Trudi over at Me and Ewe.  I won a kit to make Trudi's little bead people.  Thanks so much Trudi.  They are now on my 'to do' list, they are so adorable and check out those cute little crocheted hats.   Trudi has an Etsy shop too with the most beautiful hand dyed felt, that's on my 'must buy' list.....

sewing in what feels like a kazillion ends, but enjoying it as I watch Tess of the d'Ubervilles and LOVE how the house actually feels cold at last...Autumn is here...yippee

I have received some of the best mail this week.  Firstly was my beautiful book from Beck.   Then yesterday came this very sweet jug cover I ordered from Melanie's new Etsy shop, it was hard to stop at one.....

and also yesterday arrived back my Quilt Project Square from Kirsty along with a glossy 'digital quilt' which will be lovely to have as a reminder of the whole project, thanks Kirsty.

I also received another goodie today but I haven't taken a photo yet.....mmm happy days......thank you postie

I am so lucky...

I was so incredibly lucky to recently win a giveaway on Beck's blog Dandelion.  The most generous prize ever and I won it!!!  It is a copy of Beck's mum,  Sue Walker's fabulous new book.

I was so excited to win and when the book arrived yesterday I was in disbelief at the size and weight of the book and to think I actually won it.  I feel so very spoilt.

Doctor Who...when?

We can watch the new Doctor Who on ABC iView on April 16th at midnight!!  Looking forward to it bigtime, hope I can stay awake that late....

post edit:  I am sure I won't be able to stay up that late it's way past my bed time so I will have to watch it on Sunday 18th on ABC1 at 7.30...a much more civilised time I think for old farts like myself

knitting once again.....

Now the weather is cooling I have brought out the Harry Potter scarf.  The one I started last year for Isobel to wear to the new Harry Potter movie.  oops..didn't make that deadline.... But my arm started giving me a lot of grief and I could only knit a couple of rows at a time.  It seems repetitive injuries have a memory.  There is still pain when I knit but at least I can do about 10 rows at a time now.  I only have to do one more maroon block, then tassels,then it's finished!!

It will feel good to move onto a new knitting project in a short while, and Bel will feel good to finally have her scarf!!!!
