gothic mix

ooops this poor blog has been a bit neglected lately.    Sometimes time goes by so fast, before you know it, it's over a week since you have posted.
I have been working on quite a few mixed media pieces lately.   I have two pretty much completed so I thought I would share them so I feel like I am getting some things finished
I have had times of feeling quite black lately. My ill health frustrating the hell out of me and worrying about my very ill mum.   The best thing for it was to paint a girl with a Gothic feel to her.  I didn't want to go totally dark.  Just have a bit of fun.
and this is my other girl.  I am loving her hair and I am happy with the stamps on her giving her a tattooed feel.    After getting a tattoo about 15 years ago, I always planned on getting another but just never got around to it.   It always seemed liked a luxury item.  So I will make up for it with my painted girls.
Both these works need beeswax and maybe a 3d element or two. I'm not sure.    Then they are finished.

I am loving the feel of Autumn in the air.  So much so I am feeling tempted to even get the knitting needles out.
Not another scarf I hear you say,     yep I'm afraid so.......

lilly cottage

I bought this gorgeous shabby clock from Linda at Lilly Cottage a little while ago (I am getting so slack at taking blog photos and posting lately.....sorry Linda xx) and I wanted to show you this as Linda has such a gorgeous shop.
The shop has beautiful things like my clock, but also gorgeous shabby handmade things like this pretty heart garland Linda made and gave me.  PLUS she gave me that divine teardrop how beautiful is that.
Thank you Linda.  I do wish I could actually walk into your shop and look around, but your blog photos will have to do for now.

baking

I have been doing some gluten free baking.  These are Cornflake Cookies.   It seems I didn't quite add enough flour.  I find with GF flour things turn out a little dry so I left this mixture reasonably sticky and I doubled it too as is usual with my baking.    I ended up with two huge flat slabs of biscuit.  It looked like a base ready for something to go on top like caramel or lemon maybe.   But there were very slight lines where I could just see I could break them apart and have very square very flat biscuits.
But they do taste nice.   They are lovely with copious amounts of tea.  I have been having a couple for a late lunch with a pot of tea as I don't usually feel like lunch until late in the day so it's something quick.
I certainly won't be entering these babies into any CWA or Royal Show though.
Meanwhile Isobel made a chocolate cake totally on her own and it turned out brilliantly....
