lovely gifts

I have made some wonderful friends through having a blog and more recently in the last six months or so I have  made some lovely cyber buddies through YouTube and some like minded peeps in Groups on Facebook.
One special friend on YouTube is Elaine.  Elaine lives in Singapore and she is very talented when it comes to altered projects and scrap booking.  We decided to do a one on one swap of some goodies and supplies.
We both find things very expensive to buy compared to what our counterparts pay for things in the USA, so it was nice to share some things we may not otherwise have.
My parcel arrived last week and I wanted to share it with you as I was blown away with Elaine's generosity, I now have some things I have been dying to own but just haven't been able to buy.
Below is some Japanese crepe fabric for sewing and some Maya Road clear stamps

gorgeous butterflies and bows for embellies, and look at the fabulous Asian coin envelope.  A bit cuter than the yellow ones we have here in Australia
this I screamed when I opened.  A large dress form cut in chipboard for altering or making a mini album out of and some lovely pink crocheted lace trim around it.
I don't own any die cutting machines so if I need any die cuts I usually will buy a few off Etsy.  But it seems so many people own some form of Die Cutter but I can't see me getting one.
everything was packaged so beautifully
and look at the cute brown paper bags they have there, one with hearts,
more die cuts yay
hand made envelope
and border punches! I see these all the time in projects on YouTube, but again to buy punches here are expensive, especially the Martha Stewart ones which are fabulous!

some blingy sequins with another cute coin envelope

and a paper stack that I couldn't find here and I really really wanted.  I don't usually even buy paper stacks unless I can get 6in x 6in off Etsy quite cheaply or I will buy loose 12 x 12 online if it is heavily reduced.  Elaine found this for me, it was the last stack in the shop.  I really want to do shop Marie Antoinette inspired projects and this will be perfect.  I will share some pages with you, yummo

look at the glitter on this page....

beautiful fibres to use in projects

another beautiful dress form die cut, a smaller one this time.   I just love dress forms, this was packaged so beautifully with some other little goodies.  In the teeny tiny bags are a daisy trim and die cut buttons

two different size butterfly chipboard die cuts for mixed media mini books

here are the tiny bags and their contents and the trim is on a cotton reel

beautiful rose ribbon trim, I have a bit of an addiction for this trim, I have been getting the odd piece here and there from Etsy so I don't run out!!! It is divine

angel wings and crown die cuts

bird cages and birds
more cute paper bags

birds and other sweet die cuts for embellies

words - love these for journaling and mini mixed media books or paintings

gears..great for steampunk inspired projects

bird houses...so cute

and a simply gorgeous handmade pressie from Elaine, a beautiful little purse.  It started out as a plain Balsa wood purse and Elaine has altered it, it is sooo pretty, thank you so much Elaine, your work is gorgeous

also some stamped tags as Elaine owns the stamps that come with the paper collection I bought

and Glimmer Mist, this stuff is lovely, it's like ink with glitter in it.  It comes in dozens of colours and in videos on YT some people own dozens but it is very pricey here so I have never bought any.  But now I own a bottle!!! yay

here is a shot of all my goodies...
Thank you again Elaine, it was THE BEST  mail, and it has made me SO happy I play with it and look at it all the time.  I must start creating with it.
Check out Elaine's YouTube channel called Sillyfroghoneybee and see her beautiful projects

lovely lark

Sometime waaaaaay back in August I had a birthday.   I was given some fab presents.  My usual request is gift vouchers from either of my fave art stores.  I love being able to go and get what I need/want for the stash.   I did get said vouchers and still have one I haven't used yet.   I am savouring it for the day where art supply retail therapy is JUST what I need.    The voucher is for a shop here in town called Birchalls and I LOVE going there to shop.  Books galore downstairs and art supplies galore upstairs = heaven

Apart from my vouchers I got this wonderful pressie from my sister.  She saw on one of my previous posts I had shopped at Lark and could easily buy everything they have.  She jumped online and bought me this treasure.  I LOVE it soooo much.  It's in the same style as the bag I posted about, the vintage Asian kind of style I adore
isn't it beautiful...
and look..it's magic, it's three in one..love it
also something special from my Bestie along with the other goodies AND a gift voucher for art goodies from her, was this journal.  It's beautiful and I can NEVER have enough journals.  I usually have about three going at once for different things
and she also gave me this cool book.    It's about Phillipa Finch and I have since discovered there are lots of books and DVDs of Phillipa Finch.
the book is written in this cool journal style
just wanted to share these goodies, even though it's a wee bit passed my birthday....

new addition

A couple of posts back I put our girl Ruby (below) on the blog.  We adopted Ruby from the RSPCA 8 years ago when she 8 or 9 weeks old.......We felt it was time to add a new fur baby to the family after a few weeks ago losing our 15 yo Cornish Rex, Licorice to liver failure.  It has been very sad around here.  She was the Matriarch of the family with her superior cat attitude....and part of the furniture

meet Louie!!! he is a ten month old Silky Terrier.  He also was adopted from the RSPCA.  He is a sweetheart.   He was a little shy for the first few days, but now he has settled in and is so happy
the two of them together remind me of a Disney movie......
you know the ones,  little dog lost meets big dog and they travel far and wide and become best buddies....welcome to the family Little Louie
